Hello, this is Danielle Jalowiecka with the BBC News.
The head of Brazil's Supreme Court has accused President Jair Bolsonaro of attacking democracy by encouraging people to defy the court's rulings. Chief Justice Luiz Fux's comments came a day after Mr. Bolsonaro told supporters he would not obey the decisions of one of the judges. Candace Piette has more details. Tuesday's demonstrations, many people were displaying signs and banners, railing against the Supreme Court. They were also demanding one judge be removed. Alexandre de Moraes, he's overseeing an investigation targeting the president and two of his sons. And this judge is also assuming the presidency of Brazil's electoral tribunal next year when President Bolsonaro will be seeking reelection. And this is an election which polls at the moment say he may lose. So, by suggesting, it's the court that is impeding his progress. He's casting doubt on its legitimacy which may stand him in good stead next year.

The trial of the American biotech entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes has begun in California. Prosecutors claim she lied about a blood-testing device that made her a billionaire. Her defense says she simply made mistakes. She's accused of falsely claiming the test could detect blood conditions such as cancer.
At least ten people have died in a fire at a makeshift coronavirus hospital in North Macedonia. Cases of the virus have been on the rise since mid-August, increasing pressure on health care services. Paddy Maguire reports. Video posts on social media showed a fire raging as emergency crews raced to the scene in the city of Tetovo, which has one of the highest number of coronavirus cases in North Macedonia. The modular COVID unit was only built last year. A local fire chief told reporters that the fire had been intensified by the large amount of plastic components in the hospital. Calling it a huge tragedy, the Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said it had been caused by an explosion and that an investigation was underway. Several injured people have been moved to hospitals in the capital Skopje.
The BBC has learned that there's been a significant increase in reports of health incidents affecting U.S. spies and diplomats in recent months. Originally known as Havana syndrome, officials say, the condition has now spread to every continent. Gordon Corera has more details. In August, a visit by the U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris to Vietnam was delayed after a U.S. official reported an anomalous health incident commonly known as Havana syndrome. The symptoms, often hearing strange sounds in the feeling of heat or pressure, were first spotted in Cuba in 2016 and have disproportionately affected intelligence officers. There's been a significant increase in reports in recent months, while some have suggested psychological origins. Evidence in at least some of the cases points to individuals being targeted with directed pulse microwaves.
